Wednesday 3 December 2025

Today marks the 14th year of marriage for Margaret and me. They've been great years. She says I promised her 20 years of marriage. Hopefully, this old body of mine will reasch that number. Maybe, with the help of my meds, it'll happen. Sad to say, many of my relatives and friends have passed away.

We were worried about Johnny, our golden retriever, making it through this year. He became very sick and had to go on antibiotics and steroids for quite awhile. But, now he's back to normal: i.e, getting into mischief. He's a trained therapy dog and Marg has resumed taking him to visit needy people in sheltered homes.

Our house is back to normal now also. We had a serious leak, earlier in the year, necessitating the installation of new major appliances and cabinets in our kitchen. One cabinet we really like is a tall pantry cabinet with roll-our shelving.

Frigid weather has set in in our region, with lows in the -20's. The wind chills are brutal!

On Sunday, we'll visit the Johns in LaSalle to celebrate my grandson Alex's 18th birthday. It's amazing how fast they've grown!

The World is in Upheaval

So much of this upheaval is due to one man and his flunkies. I watch no king marches across the states, tariffs and anti-tariffs, threats galore, stupid a.i. images, countries flattering the 'supreme' leader, attempts to rewrite history, ego-maniacs in different countries attempting to rule the world, fast and furius lies and more lies ... the beat goes on and on. These people forget one thing ... all of us have a finite number of heart beats (me, included) ... then, it's all over. What is left is memories of those still alive ... some good and some bad. All we can do is enjoy our special friends, relatives and pets while we can.
